Knights of Columbus Council #14952

'Vivat Jesus' (Jesus Lives)

Welcome to all our brothers in Christ, from our current Grand Knight, Matt Pieper, leader of Council #14952, Iowa District #28.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practical (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See.

Our annual dues are $30 and our meetings are generally on the first Saturday of the month at 9:15 AM in Scotus Hall at Immaculate Conception Church. See 'Calendar of Events' page for specific dates and times.

So who is our council's name sake, Father Emonds?

Father William Emonds

He was a German immigrant, born in Bielefeld, Germany, on June 13, 1830. Father Emonds received his ecclesiastical studies from Bishop Loras in Dubuque and was ordained there on Sunday December 19, 1852. While pastor at Saint Mary's in Iowa City, Father Emonds started mission churches in eastern Iowa. In 1858 he established Immaculate Conception mission church in Cedar Rapids, the first Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Take the 2021 Knight's Challenge

Read the daily Mass readings for a year and see if you aren't a better Christian and Catholic for your effort. This is also a good way to prepare for Sunday or daily Mass.

You can sign up for a free daily, early morning, e-mail notification from USCCB at
