KiP Community WOrkshops 

KiPshops are opportunities for members of the KiP community to gather together to have some in-depth discussions about research and current work. Through these meetings, we seek to:

• Build community by fostering a stronger sense of common purpose beyond smaller, local research groups

• Support collaboration and seed future research by providing opportunities to share work in progress and collectively discuss timely issues that are of collective interest

• Organize, systematize, and present the accomplishments of the KiP community

-KiPshop 2010 at ICLS

The second workshop of the KiP community took place Tuesday, June 29 at ICLS 2010 in Chicago.  The workshop theme was 

"Integrating Knowledge and Interaction in Analyses of Cognition and Activity"

The focus of this workshop was to begin to discuss multiple theoretical and analytical approaches for studying how cognitive processes interact with more complex social dynamics.

-KiPshop 2009 at AERA

The first activity of the KiP community took place at AERA in San Diego.  The workshop theme was:

"What is knowledge analysis?"

This first workshop involved discussions around an ongoing and important theme for the community: theoretical and methodological issues involved in fine-grained studies of students' reasoning, learning, and conceptual change.
