BAND TRIP TO MEMPHIS AND NASHVILLE!
Snare-
One of the most prominent instruments in percussion would be the snare drum. For this reason, it is important that all snare drummers have matching technique.
Non-traditional sticking (matched grip)
All rim clicks are played with the right hand on the far side of the drum (to the right of your flip folder)
Harnesses are worn beneath uniforms during marching and halftime shows.

Quads-
Quads take a lot of skill to master. Between rhythm and mastering the sticking, it can be hard.
Non-traditional sticking (matched grip)

Double stroke rolls
Bass-
The backbone of the section. The rhythms can be simple- but it is just as important to play loud and with confidence.
One mallet in each hand
Use a mallet that is comparable to the size of your drum (Smallest bass players should use a small mallet, largest bass players should use a large mallet).
When playing halftime shows and marching, play the song pitched (Each drum plays its specific line)
When playing rim clicks only play on rim savers so the rim does not get damaged.
Cymbals-
Getting cymbals is not a big deal. Just know that you will be able to switch out of them eventually. Have fun with cymbals, and play with confidence!
Play with strong confidence
Be proud!
