Series in progress – "2005"-"2017"

This series in progress pays homage to my beloved older sister Vicki who died in July of 2004 after a 13-year battle with cancer. A truly kind and compassionate human being she was my best friend and confidant as well as a passionate supporter of the arts and my work.

The primary intention of this series is to keep the memory of my sister alive and support the very important and necessary work of PAVSA. To accomplish this I present a dichotomy of visual equivalents metaphorically representing my memory of Vicki and her uniqueness as an individual. The diptych approach to presenting the photographs references the duality or yin yang of our human existence. Each diptych conveys a separate visual poetic song of my sister thus the romanticized series title of “Cantos de Victoria.”

My goal with this series is to produce one diptych per year for each of the thirteen years my sister suffered, exclusively for the PAVSA annual fund raising auction. I began the series in 2005 and intend to finish in 2017.
