Original Story of The Boys and the Frogs

“Some mischievous Boys were playing on the edge of a pond, and, catching sight of some Frogs swimming about in the shallow water, they began to amuse themselves by pelting them with stones, and they killed several of them. At last one of the Frogs put his head out of the water and said, "Oh, stop! stop! I beg of you: what is sport to you is death to us."

Summers in rural Illinois can be quite harrowing for some critters. It was a hot July day when some mischievous and very unruly boys were playing on the edge of a pond, deep in the forest where they would often go to get away from their parents or siblings. To the disadvantage of the indigenous frogs who resided in the pond, these boys had a plan that would disturb anyone with a conscience. Each boy looked at each other with a wicked grin, as if they knew what each other was thinking. Within seconds of their grins, they grabbed a handful of stones and began assaulting them with their ammunition, as if they were at an amusement park trying to win a stuffed animal. The results of their barbaric act resulted in the death of several defenseless and harmless frogs. Finally, one of the frightened and exhausted frogs put his head out of the water and said, "Oh, stop! stop! I beg of you: what is sport to you is death to us." To the frog’s dismay, the boys lacking the sensitivity and values of their peers, continued to pelt them until each frog had perished. When the boys ran home, they came across Ralph and his hooligan friends. The events that took place after that are to0 disturbing to re-tell. All I have to say is “what goes around comes around”
