Biography

Khaqan Majeed was born in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He received the B.Sc. degree (First Division with Honors) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Lahore, Pakistan in Aug 2009, and the M.S. degree from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in May 2014. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada in Jun 2021. He completed his M.S. under the mentorship of Dr. Sameh O. Sorour (Ph.D., University of Toronto) and Dr. Tareq Y. Al-Naffouri (Ph.D., Stanford University) and Ph.D. under the mentorship of Dr. Steve Hranilovic (Ph.D., University of Toronto). His M.S. research work is related to WiFi-based indoor localization and Ph.D. research work is related to passive indoor visible light positioning. His recent research interests lie in the areas of machine learning and deep learning, indoor localization, visible light positioning, 2D direction-of-arrival estimation, and biomedical signal processing.
