Member Information

Mission statement

To perpetuate and preserve the art of Hawaiian canoe paddling through our youth and all who are willing to learn. To develop personal growth and character with Traditional Hawaiian ways.

Vision Statement

To function as an ohana providing care to our paddlers teaching them lifelong lessons such as Respect, Responsibility, and Friendship, and promoting cultural and values a Healthy Physical activity in a fun family-oriented Environment.

Ohana Responsibility

Adults guide students by example, Students respect and listen to adults support all races, Fundraising/ Potlucks/ Parties!

Member Responsibility

* Respect the people, who volunteer and commit their time to the club

*Respect each other and the paddling community competition is on the water only

*Be respectful for the equipment that you use take care of it before, during,& after practice and race

*Take care of the club site (pick up trash)

*Keep up with all financial responsibilities and club deadlines (TBA by coach Jen) *Participate in club fundraisers and events

Waiver and Forms

Each student must fill out an information card,& sign a waiver before participating in club fuction. (Pass out by coach Jen)

Fundraisers Guidelines:

*All winter season Fundraisers are Mandatory to Assist In!

*Page 4 of Packet will give you all Fundraisers for Season.

*If any fundraiser is not completed, may cause a Dismissal from the club/team

*All profits will either help the paddler or the team

*Due dates will be given & if dates are not met, then dismissal maybe a consequence

Canoe Safety

*Everyone who gets in the canoe must have a signed waiver

*Paddlers must know how to swim and be water safe.

*Learn how too properly care for the canoes all canoes must go on a tire with carpet when placed into the water.

*Do not jump over the canoes walk around.

*Know what to do in the event of a Huli

Due Dates and Deadlines

*NOTIFICATIONS OF DUE DATES AND DEADLINES WILL BE

GIVEN TO EVERYONE ON THE MONTHLY CALENDAR (seen on website)

*EVERY DATE SHOULD BE MET THERE IS NO REASON

FOR ANY MISSED DUE DATES OR DEADLINES!

Club Registration Fee

*PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT CLUB DUES SHEET!

*Late fees of $ 20.00 will be assessed after the due date has passed no waivers/exceptions

*FAMILY PLANS: May be available for 3 or more paddlers othe f same household

Camps and Trips Canoe Club taken:

Eligibility for club/ team trips is based on attendance at practice, attitude and finances. All trips are fun but educational first. (We are there to learn about the Hawaiian Culture by being paddlers. If you are not paddling you can not participate)

*All team cosh as and not limited to Hotel, Rental Car, Car insurance, Gas, Meals, Shipping of canoes, and Adventure cost are the responsibility of the Team. Air Fare is an individual cost and will not be shared with the Team expense. The team wiloffsetet the cost for the Chaperones that attend trips all except the Chaperone's Air Fare, this will be the responsibility of the Chaperones.

The contents of this Member info are for informational purposes only and are subject to change. Any paddlers can be dismissed from this program at any time for any cause.
