Band Leadership

The Kenwood Academy Bands, under the direction of Gerald Powell, are the superior rated Jazz Ensemble ("Jazz At The Wood"), Jazz Combo, Concert Band, and the Marching Band ("Marching Broncos"). Mr. Powell is an alumnus of Morehouse College and a member of the jazz combo "8 Bold Souls". He has been a member of the Kenwood faculty since the Spring of 2005 and is currently the Chair of the Music Department.

Ms. Bethany Pickens is the Piano Performance/Assistant Jazz Band Director.
