ABOUT KFB

Fishkill is a diverse community within the dynamic Hudson Valley made up of individuals from all walks of life with quaint shops and restaurants, sidewalks and tree-lined streets.  

This website was initially started in the early 2000s by a group of concerned citizens who were reacting to the proposal to build a complex of apartments in the Baxtertown woods area. Much of the plan existed within protected wetlands. This proposal failed, but it had galvanized both Town and Village residents and rallied the community over what would be a continuing issue - the balance of the needs of business and industry alongside the need for open space and a respect for history.

As a group, the members of Keep Fishkill Beautiful are committed to sharing fact-based information fairly and evenly. 

We are happy to work with individuals of all interests, passions and political parties. 

Our team is made up of dedicated volunteers and members of our community who have lived, worked, owned businesses and raised families together.
