School Information

Arrival:

Each morning you will be dropping your child off at the gate of the kindergarten play area. There will be an educator on duty from 8:35am to 8:45 am each morning. When the bell rings the children will form a line and they will proceed into their classroom to start their day.

Any children that arrive after the bell are asked to please go to the main entrance of the school. Please do not open the gate and let your child into the kindergarten play area. There is no teacher on duty after the bell rings.

Dismissal:

Kindergarten students are normally outside a few minutes before 3:05.

All students will be dismissed out of the same gate as they entered in the morning.

Pickup

Before school starts you will be providing us with a list of people who are able to pick up your child after school.

If you have someone else that is picking up your child that is not on our pick up list, we ask that you please write a note in your child’s communication book letting us know the name and relationship to your child. i.e., grandparent, sibling.

They will be required to show ID at pick up.

Inclement weather drop off and pickup:

When the weather is poor (e.g., rainy or too cold to be outside) please drop your child off at the main entrance of the school. Dismissal will always be out of the kindergarten gate, even if the weather is poor. If you are not sure where to drop your child off due to the weather outside, there will be a notice posted on the front doors of the school when it is inclement weather.

Absences:

If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason we ask that you please call and let the office know that they will be away.

Communication Book and Baggie:

In September each student will get a communication book and baggie that they will use throughout the school year. This is one way we can communicate any pertinent information with each other, and also to send home any important forms. If you write a note in the communication book, please leave the book folded open in the baggie. This will signal to the educators that the book should be read. Educators do not check communication books that are left closed in the baggie. If an educator writes a note in your child’s communication book, the book will be left folded open in the baggie.

School Cash Online:

Banbury Heights is completely online for school payments. If you choose to purchase items for your child at the school (e.g., pizza day, milk program) and to pay for classroom events and trips, all families will use the School Cash Online website. Please look for more information to arrive home in September for registration.
