Bio:

Born in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Graduated from Seikei High School (1999). Katsunori obtained a Diplôme du Programme Internationale from l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (2003), a B.A. in Social Sciences from Waseda University (2004), and a M.A. in Political Science from Waseda University (2006). He was a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science from April 2008 to August 2009. He was Texas A&M University Office of Graduate and Professional Studies (OGAPS) dissertation fellow in 2014 and obtained a Ph.D. in Political Science from Texas A&M University (2015). He was a post-doctoral researcher at Collaborative Research Center (Sonderforschungsbereich 884 "Political Economy of Reforms"), School of Social Sciences, the University of Mannheim, Germany from 2015 to 2018 and an assistant professor at Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tsukuba from 2018 to 2023. In October 2023, he joined Graduate School of International Development at Nagoya University as associate professor.
