The Kathy Raynor Fund for Authenticity in Healthcare Excellence

A new initiative established to promote identification and development of personal, authentic relationships between patients and their healthcare professionals.

CHARLOTTE (October 25, 2013) – The Raynor Family and Carolinas Healthcare Foundation today announced the first donations to The Kathy Raynor Fund for Authenticity in Healthcare Excellence (“the Fund”) to recognize and advance authentic relationships in the healthcare setting, especially those practices that enhance patient outcomes.

The Fund, which is open for contributions from all interested donors, has a goal to identify and enhance new and existing efforts to improve patient relationships with providers and healthcare professionals, recognizing that relationships within organizations can engage a broad array of stakeholders. The Fund looks forward to providing awardees financial assistance to continue their work, as well as encouragement and tools to facilitate collaboration among them.

Personal engagement in healthcare can be challenging to foster, as the time and cost constraints are so broad and the stakeholders so diverse. Nominations of remarkable candidates for the award will include those with individual approaches to authentic relationships and demonstrated passion for improving personal patient connections. By recognizing awardees, the Fund seeks to elevate innovative techniques and proven impact on patients, codifying tangible methods for patient engagement and showing new causes for optimism.

With shared goals, but different approaches, we are excited about what the Kathy Raynor Fund for Authenticity nominees and awardees will be able to accomplish. We look forward to new donors joining the cause to magnify future waves of authenticity and impact.
