Here are some opportunities for you to be involved and help make your child's time at Karigon a memorable, enriched and fun experience!
Committee Chair: Amina Tariq (amina.t87@hotmail.com)
We partner with the Regional Food Bank of NENY to meet the needs of children who may have food insecurities over the weekend. The program provides backpacks filled with food that is child-friendly, non-perishable, and easily consumed. Bags are packed each week and discreetly distributed by school staff to participating children every Friday afternoon.
You will see communication about this program throughout the year that will provide information on how you can help. #ittakesavillage.

We also provide grade-level in-classroom programs throughout the year. The committee Chair works with school faculty to book events that compliment curriculum.

What is STEAM?
Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathmematics.
STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!
STEAM is a way to take the benefits of STEM and complete the package by integrating these principles in and through the arts. STEAM takes STEM to the next level: it allows students to connect their learning in these critical areas together with arts practices, elements, design principles, and standards to provide the whole pallet of learning at their disposal.
