My Teaching Philosophy Statement
I was firm about making my career as a teacher from my teenage and reason behind it was some of my great teachers I met during my early student life. They had successfully instilled a love of learning in me. I decided to pass this legacy to next generation and for that I decided to be a “life-long learner” by joining the noble profession on earth. As Mr. Brad Henry, American Politician said, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning”.
Here, I would like to quote Mr. Henry Adams, American Historian. He says “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops”. During my studies & professional career I went through many ups and downs in my academic & personal life. Every times when I bounced back I found one common reason that’s some extraordinary teacher(s), who continuously motivating & pushing me through their life lessons, thoughts & acts so that I can get rid of hard time.
I want to see my “Digital Native”- a term coined by U.S. author Mr. Marc Prensky in 2001, students to have successful professional and happy personal life. I want to provide an opportunity to my each & every student to become a life-long learner. I would like create environment in class where each & every thoughts or questions of learner (not only related with subject) can be answered, guide and nurtured. I want to touch cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions of the learners by my teaching learning techniques so that the learning not restricted to subject only.
“Everyone who remembers his own education remembers teachers, not methods and techniques. The teacher is the heart of the educational system” as rightly said by Philosopher, Mr. Sidney Hook, I always maintain high standard in my professional and personal life which match with my job. I always try to motivating by my own or alumni’s example like how I am attempting the technical problem to solve it? , why I am learning new technologies?, how some senior student change his educational graph by doing smart work or how some students reached to their dream job?. This technique is working for me as preaching doesn’t work for “Digital Natives”. They want authentic real life examples & motivation for not only learning but doing anything. I also maintain high standard in my professional and personal life so that students always
As goal of any teacher can’t be achieved during 2 or 3 years of course so I am continuously asks feedback from current and passing out students and based on that I am evaluating myself. As written by Mr. Robert Sternberg, An Educator, “There is no recipe to be a great teacher, that's what is unique about them.” I am always trying to solve teaching-learning issues with different ways until I get right way to solve it.
My life mantra is “Keep Breathing, Keep Learning, and Keep Sharing”.
