If you want to make a donation and don't have a personal favorite charity, or just want to know where we might direct it if it were ours, here are some suggestions:
- St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. This is our home church, and this wedding would be there if the pews moved. It provides a comfortable home for the traditionally churched (Jim) and the less churched (Denise). It's kid-friendly, growing and a neighborhood asset.
- Oxfam America. A favorite charity doing tremendous good in the world.
- Minnesota Sacred Harp singers. There’s no tax-exempt organization for that one, or any organization at all. Just make those checks payable to Matt Wells and we (and he) will make sure that they go to buy books, pay for convention costs, and such.
- Tapestry Folkdance Center. The center of the local folk dance community.
- Camp Ogontz. Our families have spent many pleasant summer days at Ogontz in the Family Weeks sponsored by the Country Dance & Song Society. The camp itself is a haven of music in northern New Hampshire, which pretty much fits our vision of how heaven should look.
- Minnesota Waldorf School. Jim's daughters went to Waldorf for K-8. It gave them a sense of wonder and a good education.
- Lake Country Montessori School. Anna Bean (Denise's daughter) has gone here since first grade. It has provided an environment that is both nurturing and challenging.
