Biography

Dr. Jorgensen is a chemistry faculty member at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).  Since being added to the TAMIU faculty in 2012, Jorgensen has sought to increase enrollment in the B.S. in Chemistry degree program and increase awareness and passion for chemistry at the university and in the Laredo community.  

To aid in recruitment and outreach Jorgensen founded, and is the advisor of, the TAMIU Chemistry Club which is recognized as an American Chemical Society Student Chapter. 

Jorgensen has also developed a research group at TAMIU having several students present their research findings at local, regional, and national conferences and winning several awards.  

Jorgensen's background in physical computational chemistry has enabled her to develop a computational chemistry course, allowing TAMIU undergraduate students to gain additional skills and tools for careers and graduate programs in chemistry.
