Today this is West Hall
Julius Kahn's "Kahn System" of reinforced concrete was first used on this building in 1903. In 1905 after designing the first 9 plants in traditional style, on Packard Plant #10, Kahn changed how factories are built by using the Kahn system instead of iron, stone, and brick (bib27, p33). bib26,p 32 has an illustration of the Kahn system.
