Welcome to KØECS

The Johnson County Emergency Communications Service, Inc. (ECS) is a Not-For-Profit volunteer R.A.C.E.S. affiliated Amateur Radio organization that serves Johnson County Kansas Emergency Management and Communications. ECS provides a 24/7 resource to the Johnson County and the Kansas City Metro areas. ECS is activated by Emergency Management and provides communications as requested by Public Service Agencies.

Primary duties of ECS include storm spotting and communications for other Johnson County functions.

All ECS members must meet certain qualifications and be re-certified every two years.

  • Testing Concluded for 2016 Testing for 2016 has been concluded as of midnight March 31, 2016.  Prospective and existing members still have a short time to pay their annual $5.00 dues and complete the member information form update.  See the Join and Training pages for more details.
