Johnson County Emergency Communications Service (ECS)
Welcome to KØECS
The Johnson County (KS) Emergency Communications Service, Inc. (ECS) is a Not-For-Profit volunteer amateur radio organization that functions as the R.A.C.E.S. organization that serves Johnson County Kansas Emergency Management and Communications. ECS provides a 24/7 resource to the Johnson County and the Kansas City Metro areas. ECS is activated by Emergency Management and provides communications as requested by Public Service Agencies.
Primary duties of ECS include storm spotting and communications for other Johnson County functions.
All ECS members must meet certain qualifications and be re-certified every two years.
