Personal

In most of my free time I build Duplo or sand castles with our children, sing childrens' songs, play hide-and-seek, read Dr. Brumm (amazing books!), or answer three trilion "why?" questions. Our two children keep Susanne (check out her amazing work!) and me busy.

If any time is left, I love reading long novels, short stories, and political theory. I full-heartedly support my inspiring friends at www.wortoertlich.de

Jazz music plays a major role in my life. I enjoy playing the saxophone -- I find much less time than I used to, though -- and no day passes without listening to outstanding musicians like Snarky Puppy, Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Brian Blade & the Fellowship Band, Kamasi Washington, GoGo Penguin, Jacob Collier, The Bad Plus, or Avishai Cohen, who keep pushing the boundaries and inspire me by showing that what seemed impossible yesterday is possible today (or tomorrow).

I play a strange sport called floorhockey (also called floorball or unihockey). It's kind of ice hockey without ice. It's fast. It's fun.  Check it out (no, that's not me in the video). This makes me forget everything else for a few hours as I'm trying to catch my breath. After winning the Southern German Championship with a team in Konstanz, I now play with the Frankfurt Falcons in the 2. Bundesliga.

I'm a passionate hiker, trekker, and mountainbiker. You can find me doing weekend day-hikes in the Taunus or doing trips backpacking throughout Europe or Asia. Below are some impressions from Nepal, Laos, Turkey, Corsica, and the Alps. I love traveling and am happy that I have only visited 15% of all countries of this world so far.

I own a pasta- and an ice-cream maker.
