There are many reasons why Daughters join our National Society! Membership in the DAR honors and preserves the legacy of your patriot ancestor(s). Nearly 250 years ago, American patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As a member of the DAR, through participation in various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. Documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, death, and Revolutionary War service is required.
We love genealogy and it shows! Our chapter has many skilled volunteer genealogists (nicknamed "Genies") experienced with complex lineages, specialty research, and DNA analysis. We thrive in helping all women connect with their ancestors and revolutionary origins, and share the stories of our patriots through DAR's E Pluribus Unum initiative and other ways.
We're happy to assist you with your research, identifying patriots, and will compile most of your membership application for you.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s service organization committed to historic preservation, education and patriotism. We seek to understand, preserve, and share all parts of our history. Our chapter embraces the notion that the United States of America was established with the promise of equality for all; we welcome and celebrate the diversity among our members.
