Research

Our main research interests span the multidisciplinary areas of electromagnetic wave propagation and radiation from microwaves and terahertz frequencies to the infrared band. Specifically, novel concepts and ideas are applied to exploit exciting phenomena, to enable unprecedented electromagnetic functionalities, and to enhance the performance of the different building blocks which compose modern communication and sensing systems. To this purpose, several research lines are simultaneously pursued:

Giant and unidirectional recoil optical forces

Time-modulated Microwave Devices

Nonreciprocal magnetless devices using 2D materials

Sensing

Hyperbolic and ENZ metasurfaces

Plasmonic devices

Nonlinear metasurfaces

CEM and microwave devices and antennas
