I'm a 70 year old Christian widower who happens to be a retired telecom employee and very happy to be away from the corporate world.
I was born in Newark NJ in the year 1953. My zodiac sign is Aries. I'm the eldest of five children (two brothers and two sisters). My mother's parents were born in Mexico and Puerto Rico. My father's parents were born in Spain.
The family moved from Newark in the late 50s to South River NJ, which is 29 miles southwest via the New Jersey Turnpike (Exit 9). I was nine years old at the time. My parents are divorced. My father remarried as my mother did not. On August 25th 2007, my father became a widower. On August 15th 2010, my father passed away.
In June 1972, I graduated from South River High School. I enjoyed Cross Country and Track (Winter and Spring). I have a few college credits in TV/Radio Communications.
I was employed by AT&T, starting back in July 1974. Twenty five years later, my work there is done. While working for AT&T, I fell in love with a wonderful woman named Brenda who later became my wife on March 7th 1986. We lived in Sidney OH and Middletown OH for seven years until the downsizing came. I was asked to transfer to Atlanta GA on March 12th 1993, the weekend of the Cyclonic Nor'east Blizzard. The two of us were ecstatic about the move ... a NEW beginning ... became our WORST nightmare.
Brenda became ill during the move, only to find out that she was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus and some form of cancer, later to be Addison's Disease. During our marriage of thirteen years, she passed away on June 20th 1999. She was only 39 years of age. More ill fortune came my way, a few months earlier ... I suffered an abdominal aeortic aneurysm rupture complicated by diabetes, and lost my right leg. I now use a manual wheelchair for mobility. We had no children. I now live in Columbia SC near family.
