Practice Nurse (Student)

Muswellbrook Hospital NSW

Within this clinical placement I achieved 80 hours of being a student nurse in this hospital for my Bachelor of Nursing degree. During this placement I accomplished many skills by following my code of practice, including:

• Assessing, recording & interpreting vital signs, BGL, high & weight
• Admission assessment
• Clinical Handover
• Documenting
• Assisting with personal hygiene, elimination needs, & mobility needs
• Being culturally competent & safe care
• Taking care of a body after death

While undertaking this incredible experience I was supervised the whole time by a RN. From this placement I gained much knowledge within & outside my code of practice, making me prepared for my next step in this course.
