Standard 1. Thinks Critically & Analyses Nursing Practice
"RNs use a variety of thinking strategies and the best available evidence in making decisions and providing safe, quality nursing practice within person-centred and evidence-based frameworks" (NMBA, 2016, Standard 1.) . The code of ethics is enforced when making decisions in the work space.
HSNS170 Assessment
In the unit HSNS170, an assessment was based on a case study which needed to involve a solution of the NMBA Standard 1 (NMBA, 2016, Standard 1). My mark of this assessment was a Pass which shows I have a understanding of the code of ethics within the nursing practice.
Standard 3. Maintains the Capability For Practice
"RNs, as regulated health professionals, are responsible and accountable for ensuring they are safe, and have the capability for practice. This includes ongoing self-management and responding when there is concern about other health professionals’ capability for practice. RNs are responsible for their professional development and contribute to the development of others. They are also responsible for providing information and education to enable people to make decisions and take action in relation to their health" (NMBA, 2016, Standard 3.).
HSNS173 Medsafe
I have accomplished many modules in the Medsafe relating to medications. Providing correct medications is important as standard 3.3 states "uses a lifelong learning approach for continuing professional development of self and others" (NMBA, 2016, Standard 3.3).
