Chapter 8, suggested problems: 8.1.4, 8.1.9, 8.1.12, 8.2.3, 8.2.5, 8.2.8.


Week 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,6,7,8 ,9 and 10: Lectures.


Homework:

Homework will be collected every Wednesday before the beginning of the lectures, starting on Wednesday, January 16, and returned every Thursday in TA meetings; there will be nine assignments.

In the schedule of lectures (above) you can see the exact questions. Only some of the questions, chosen at random, will actually be graded,

however it is strongly recommended that you attempt all the questions in the assignment. Late homework will not be accepted, but your lowest homework score will be dropped

Your homework has to be submitted in a form obeying the following rules:

In the upper right corner of the first page put:

  • Last and first name.
  • Student ID.
  • Date, Homework number.
  • Staple your homework.
  • Write legible. No crumpled, torn paper.
  • Label each solution with the section and problem number (e.g. 2.4 #5).

We will not accept your homework if it violates any of the above rules.
