SeismicLab ICTJA-CSIC

The ICTJA-CSIC Seismic Facility is composed by two main sections, the Mobile Seismic Pool and the Seismic Processing Center.

Mobile Seismic Pool

Includes Seismic equipments for temporary deployments (Broad-band + short period+ high resolution)

1) Broad-band seismic network

52 Broad-band stations Nanometrics T120 and TC sensors NMX Taurus & WorldSensing Spider dataloggers

+ 38 BB from the Topo-Iberia pool

2) Short Period seismic network

38 short-period stations (2 Hz sensors)

3) High Resolution instrumentation

250 nodes with 10 Hz geophones

Summary

• Dataloggers: 88 (+38 TopoIberia)

• BB sensors: 52 (+38 TopoIberia)

• SP sensors: 36

• High resolution: 250 acquisition nodes

Seismic Processing Center

The Seismic Processing Center of the Seismic Lab provides access to computer resources, station geophysical experiment databases, online stations

1) Computation center

8 main servers devoted to calculus, management of storage systems, data distribution, near real- time data acquisition and databases/web integration. Up to 218 Tb of disk space are available. Connectivity with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

The SPC center has recently acquired a High Performance Computing unit to provide intensive computing resources.

2) geoDB database

This repository holds limited aeromagnetic and well log data and a relatively large amount of active source seismic data, mostly in SEGY format and freely accessible after registration

3) Edtarray & IberArray online databases

The EDT and Topoiberia seismic pools activity can be checked online using a dedicated web server

4) SeisComp Server

The Seismic Lab maintains a SeisComp server allowing to receive data in real time from the stations in the field.

Seismic detection and alert services are also available
