Sailing Lessons

JCSS teaches Sailing 1 and Sailing 2 classes through Johnson County Parks and Recreation.

The goal of both classes is a positive introduction to sailing skills and techniques at beginner's levels for dinghies and sloops.  Both classes feature "On the Water" instruction in addition to classroom sessions.

Our Club goal is to get you sailing with the necessary education and confidence to experience what sailing is all about.  We cover theoretical and practical, hands-on, lessons in points of sail, rigging, knots, right-of-way, terminology, and sailing.

We invite you to join our classes at our home lake, Shawnee Mission Lake, 7700 Renner Road.
