The decline of native species as a result of land cover change is well documented. Novel solutions to address this trend are needed. My research focuses on the role managed ecosystems, in particular farm systems, play in species conservation. My current research focuses on the population and community responses of avian species to organic land management practices, the the role of the landscape that a farm is embedded within, and the tradeoffs between intensification and species conservation across ecoregions. Other research interests include the proximate and ultimate responses of species to brood parasitism, birds as ecological indicators, and the role of acoustic recordings in research and outreach.
