As founder and artistic director of our ecumenical East London team, I've helped produce nineteen interactive workshops / prayer services, both in-person and online. Participants learn Lectio Visceralis: a combination of Ignatian imaginative prayer and Theatre of the Oppres-sed (improvised movement + critical reflection). Examples:

Living in Prophetic Hope
May 17, 2014
This workshop prayed through and with the stories of individuals who have tapped into prophetic hope in the midst of homophobic oppression. It focused on the story of the martyred Ugandan organizer David Kato, who, with his religious and secular friends, resisted the anti-gay witch-hunts in his own country; and it focused on the stories of local panelists from Africa and Britain, who have fought for LGBTI and immigrant justice in London. Through discussion, reflection, and prayer, participants discovered the ways that God is stirring up prophetic hope in their own lives.

Taking a Chance on God
November 2, 2013
This day long workshop offered fellowship, input, and space for those who felt called to deeper reflection, and for those who felt inspired to spirit-led action. Activities included presentations, small and large group discussion, and professionally facilitated process. Participants heard LGBTQ pastors and theologians reflected personally on the challenges and risks of leadership in a sometimes unwelcoming church. With inspiration from the stories of others and the help of facilitators, participants from all Christian denominations had the chance to gain tools for sustainable ministry; they found room to notice how God may be calling them out of their own comfort zones – calling them more deeply into service, or activism, or prophecy, or leadership, or prayer. The day included the premier UK Screening of Brendan Fay’s film ‘Taking a Chance on God’ about the life and ministry of John McNeill, former Jesuit, theologian and pioneer.
