May 7 (Final Session). Freedom and Meaning - EQ: How do we create meaning from suffering.
Share lesson ideas in groups using Google Hangouts Meet.


Meet in assigned groups, via invitation of one of your group members.
20 min. individual reflection of lesson ideas: objectives, motivation, content, activity or activities.

Seminar Day 2, Thursday 2/6
1. House keeping - EdTPA permission slips This permission slip (in three languages) is available to all students at the Bb COMMUNITY site  spring20_edTPA Candidates 
Paying for EdTPA up-front. 
2. Share takeaways from first two weeks.  
3. Lesson Planning for edTPA - exemplars and rubric discussion.
a. OPEN handbook for edtpa and lesson plan exemplars found in the File Cabinet under edTPA folder.
b. Review the Rubric for the Lesson Plan on p.13-17 of the handbook. 
c. Quietly read the exemplar  and Lesson Plans (from passedtpa.com) and note your thoughts for a score for each section of the rubric, 
d. Discuss with your group your reasoning for the score you gave. 
e. Be prepared to present to the class your group's collective score and rationale. Remote participants will be put in their on Google Meet group. 

4. EdTPA lesson share assignment. See group discussion.

Theme driven- classroom mgt, planning, routine. (right hand for not spoken yet, left hand for spoken). 

EdTPA - Where you should be by now: Context for Learning (draft done), Target unit topic and schedule to teach and video for EdTPA by mid October w/student work samples.
Draft Planning Commentary, Draft Instructional Commentary and Assessment Commentary by Mid-October, Use from then on to edit and revise your commentaries. Do your lessons/videos the week of Oct. 14-18th (following week is for "just in case"). Before you leave the placement make sure you have the video of your lessons, student work samples w/ your feedback and their response.

Seminar EdTPA workshop.
As, we are most probably at different phases in the process I will arrange for homogenous groups for the first 90 or so minutes for group members to provide encouraging feedback on each other's work thus far and help to fashion a plan to finish their edTPA. The second half will be heterogeneous groups for people further down the road can offer some advice to those earlier in the process. In both phases you can reference the Handbook linked in our class file cabinet and its rubrics to help guide feedback and discussion. Expect to make brief share-outs at the end.
