Name Plate

This is a three piece assembly. The yellow/black QR Codes were printed on the old HICTOP

with ABS. The yellow is raised about 1.5mm, and the recessed area was just colored in with a sharpie. The HICTOP just would not let me change filament accurately enough to do the black in a different color.

The black frame around it was printed on the JGAurora, and is made from PLA. I was interested in the tolerance that I would have on this piece. I found that the internal measurements shrank about .030mm. Two screws hold it onto the walnut base.

The base is a chunk of walnut cut on a 30 degree angle (I used the angle vice fixture on this). The lettering is engraved with a .06mm bull nose end mill. I thought about finishing the wood, but I liked the way it looked in the rough.
