Supporting Classroom Instruction
In North Carolina, media coordinators "promote best instructional practices and curriculum fidelity through collaboration and support to educators. They model and facilitate access to current information and technology tools and participatory and social learning."
Since 2020, among other tasks, I have
collaborated with the second-grade team to design a year-long US History scope-and-sequence to meet the new NC State Standards
worked with the first-grade team to expand their lessons on primary and secondary sources
provided print materials for kindergarten teachers to use while teaching change over time.
Resources for Teachers, Parents, & Staff
School librarians provide information resources to teachers and staff about a variety of topics. All students in North Carolina have access to the NC Kids Digital Library, and I prepared a tutorial for students and their families to explain how to use the site.
