We are looking for experienced and qualified educators to join our team of accomplished EFL teachers. Located in Busan, Silla University offers a competitive pay and benefits package, excellent vacation time, and a pleasant working environment.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated teaching experience in a variety of classrooms, extensive knowledge of teaching English at various levels (especially to Korean students), and a personality suited to teaching our students and becoming part of our team of dedicated teachers. We prize organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and a positive attitude in and outside of the classroom.

Qualifications:
Masters degree
Two years (24 months) of university teaching experience in Korea or abroad (verifiable with documentation by your former employers)
Experience living and working in Korea (though it is not necessary to presently be in Korea)
Terms of Contract:
Two-year contract with the possibility of renewal
12 hours/week plus required overtime (most teachers currently teach 14-16 hours)
Four teaching days per week plus a research day, on which you will usually not be required to be on campus
Pay:
Salary of KRW 2,550,000/month
Housing allowance of KRW 300,000/month, no key money is offered
Overtime paid after 12 hours/week and is KRW 13,000 - 52,000 depending on the department

Vacation:
There are two periods of vacation: summer (July – Aug) and winter (January - February)
During vacation, you continue to receive your salary, benefits, and housing stipend
Teachers may choose to volunteer for 3 week summer/winter intensive programs, compensated at an overtime rate of 52,000 won per hour
Courses:
Most of our English Classes are taught through the General Education Department's Silla English Program (SEP) levels 1 and 2. This is one year of basic conversation classes taken by all majors as a degree requirement.
You may be asked to teach conversation or writing classes in other departments, such as English Language and Literature or English Education.
Teachers can create and teach special interest elective classes taught in English. Past classes have covered topics such as comedy and humor, drawing, yoga, and photography.
Teachers may volunteer to teach in Silla's Global Business Support Center's KMove Program to prepare students for overseas internships.
Our Center for International Education provides extra non-credit English classes for students who are looking for more opportunities to improve their English skills
Teachers may apply to teach content based instruction courses in English like History of Southeast Asia, Philosophy and Linguistics
