Hiring Procedures:
1. Email your complete application package to silla.apply@gmail.com,
2. If you match our current hiring needs we will telephone or email you to arrange an interview.
3. After the interview we may contact your Korean work references.
4. At this stage we may make a tentative job offer and ask you to provide several original documents.
5. If you are able to provide all the documents by our deadline we will make a firm job offer. If the documents are not provided we will withdraw our offer.
How to Apply:
A. Your Application Package E-mail should include:
Resume
Scanned copy of your original university diplomas (undergraduate and graduate)
A scanned copy of your Alien Registration Card (ARC) (front and back) if you reside in Korea OR a scanned copy of your passport if you do not reside in Korea
B. Interviews:
After screening the applications, we set up interviews with qualified applicants who match our current hiring needs. Interviews are held on campus in the International Education Building. See sidebar "Contact and Directions".
C. Work References:
Please bring to the interview the name and phone number of your Korean manager or supervisor at your present place of employment. This will be used for reference purposes.
D. Job Offers:
If you are given a tentative job offer you must provide the following documents. Documents in transit or being processed should be provided as soon as possible. Failure to provide the required documents in a timely manner will likely result in the withdrawal of the tentative job offer. All documents should be presented together as a complete package as soon as possible following a job offer. Silla University requires these documents regardless of your visa status. See sidebar "Contact and Directions".
Original diploma(s) for each degree (BA/MA/PhD) (These will be returned to you).
Notarized/apostilled copy of your most recent degree from the country which granted the degree
A transcript for each degree
Copy of your passport photo-page
Copy of your alien registration card (front & back) if you reside in Korea
Two original records of employment bearing the school's official stamp - These documents should state that you worked at ABC school from x date to y date for any schools on your hiring form (#1). You will need this to prove two years of university teaching experience (It is not necessary to document other experience but anything on your official hiring form must include a record. It won't impact your documents in any way if you leave off hagwon or other non-university experience.)
Three photos of 3 by 4 cm size.
Two original (stamped) copies of the new employee health check (공무원채용신체검사서) for health insurance enrollment purposes. Info here.
Nondisclosure agreement stating teachers will not disclose private information from Silla University (including student information)
Signed personal data collection release allowing the school to use your information (like birthday, alien registration number) for health insurance, pension and tax purposes
Signed background check agreement allowing the school to check for a criminal record in Korea.
Signed agreement to follow the Kim Yong Ran anti-corruption law (read about the law here)
National level criminal record check from your home country *MAY be necessary for current visa holders residing in Korea. Call 1345 to check your individual circumstances.
