João Pereira dos Santos

I am a researcher at Queen Mary University of London with the support of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship and an Assistant Professor at ISEG University of Lisbon (on leave)

Research Affiliate at IZA  Institute for Labor Economics and a research fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and the RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research.

Previously: Adjunct Assistant Professor at  Nova School of Business and Economics and Nova School of Law. 

I hold a PhD in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics.

I was a visiting student at Harvard University during the spring semester of 2019 with a scholarship from Fulbright and FCT.

My research interests include Political and Public Economics, Urban Economics, and Economic History. 

My favourite methodologies are Microeconometrics (especially Policy Evaluation techniques), and Behavioral/Experimental) Economics.

I completed the Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. I hold a MSc in Economics from Nova SBE and I participated in the XIV Seminar in European Studies at the European Parliament in Portugal.

Between 2019 and 2021, I served as a technical advisor for Economic Affairs and Finance in the cabinet of the Secretary of State Assistant to the Portuguese Prime-Minister.
