Buy locally, buy in Korea?
One of my biggest questions before leaving was, "should I buy a laptop in America and take it over, thereby running the risks of blowing it up with 220v outlets, or should I buy one in Korea and run the opposite risk (and so many others) on returning to America." Here's a great topic at Dave's ESL Cafe that deals with that question pretty thoroughly. Basically, the power cord or the device will have some information on it somewhere stating the voltage range it can handle. As long as it can handle up to 220v (most have a range of 110-240), and can handle 50-60Hz, you are absolutely fine, don't even worry about it. All you'll need is a $3 adapter that has two round pins. Easy enough.
