Goal : Improve therapeutic communication
Rational : Therapeutic communication is a tool for providing holistic and patient centred care through respecting boundaries and empathy. When communication between nursing student and patient is to help patients to cope with problems and unchangeable conditions it considers as the therapeutic communication (Abdolrahimi et al., 2017).
Strategy :
Actice listening - Being attentive to what the client is saying, verbally and non-verbally. Sit facing the client, open posture, lean toward the client, eye contact, and relax
Sharing empathy - The ability to understand and accept another person's reality, to accurately perceive feelings, and to communicate understanding. Example "It must be very frustrating to know what you want and not be able to do it".
Silence - Time for the nurse and client to observe one another, sort out feelings, think of how to say things, and consider what has been verbally communicated. The nurse should allow the client to break the silence.
Evidence :
Communicate with co-workers and senior nurses and ask for feedback
Patient's que and response
Goal : Start nursing career with a New Graduate Program
Rational : It is recommended that graduates be provided with employer-funded assistance for transition to employment, including appropriate induction and orientation activities, peer support and mentoring as appropriate, and introduction to specific clinical requirements where relevant infrastructure is not available, funds be made available to provide appropriate levels of support (Chagn & Daly, 2019).
Strategy:
Research the programs
Seek advices and helps from UNE career and nursing board
Preparation interview and CV, and watching videos
Evidence:
Getting a New graduate offer in a year
Rational: Nurses have a duty to continue their education so that they can remain aware of and keep up to date with medical advancements and new research. Following up with education also offers nurses broader career opportunities; some nurses find themselves moving from a hospital job into research (Nalle et al., 2010)
Strategy:
Participate in journal clubs
In-service education
Attending conferences, workshops and seminars
having an article published in a peer-reviewed journal
Evidence:
Be an educator in five years
