The Human-Automation Collaboration (HAC) Lab at Rice University, directed by Dr. Jing Chen, focuses on how people interact with automated systems, ranging from semi-autonomous vehicles to uncrewed aerial systems. Specifically, the research focuses on human trust, decision making, and risk taking, as well as design considerations to better assist users in their goals. 

Research by the HAC lab is partly funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
