The JRL research group at NCKU focuses on (1) developing multi-scale lithographic approaches (多重製程技術) combined with surface modification (表面修飾), thin film chemistry (薄膜化學) and molecular self-assembly (分子自組裝) techniques to fabricate hierarchical micro/nanostructures (層級狀微奈米結構) as bio-interfaces (仿生界面) for chemical sensing (化學量測) applications and investigation of nanostructure-induced cellular functions; (2) developing a hybrid imaging system (複合影像光譜系統, AFM-OM) that combines atomic force microscopy (AFM, 原子力顯微鏡), optical microscopy (OM, 光學顯微鏡) and Raman spectroscopy (拉曼光譜); (3) utilizing the above instruments (AFM, OM, Raman) and home-bulit contact angle measurement to investigat surface properties of nanostructured thin film. Research projects at JRL group provide students multi-disciplinary training to solve problems using analytical chemistry, imaging techniques (atomic force microscopy, electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, optical microscopy), surface science, thin film chemistry and cell biology.
