Piezoelectric transformer
Utilize heat dissipation to greatly increase the power density of a piezoelectric transformer.
Power density 135W/cm3, increased more than 4 times.
For a good heat transfer, the piezoelectric plate was pressed on an extra smooth copper plate with a proper pressure on the fixed point. They were fixed in an aluminium box. A spring mechanism attached to the box and controlled the applied pressure on the transformer.
The PT with HTE (a spring pressure of 1N) continues to maintain a stable output power density up to 135 W/cm3 with an efficiency of 90.8%.
