Dongyu Jia, Ph.D., is currently an associate professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Kennesaw State University. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree (2007) in Bioengineering at Chongqing University. Later he joined the laboratory of Dr. Wu-Min Deng at Florida State University and earned his Ph.D. in Biological Science (2015) (Deng lab is currently located at Tulane University). Then he worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Sandra Orsulic at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (2015-2017) (Orsulic lab is currently located at UCLA). Before moving to Kennesaw State, he worked as assistant then associate professor of Biology at Georgia Southern University. His research is focused on cellular and molecular approaches to understand how signaling network controls proper organismal development and disease progression. Over the years, he has published dozens of papers in highly respected journals, including Developmental Biology, Cancer Letters, and Cancer Research. He has received Graduate Student Publication Award (2014), Dissertation Research Grant Award (2015) and Young Alumni Award (2017) from Florida State University, The Ann and Sol Schreiber Mentored Investigator Award (2017) from Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, and Faculty Research Committee (FRC) Award and Research Mentor of the Year, Biology, from Georgia Southern University.  Dr. Jia has delivered dozens of talks at conferences and universities worldwide. He has conducted peer review for many prestigious journals, including PLOS Genetics, Genetics and Developmental Biology. He also currently serves on the editorial board of Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology and Oncology Letters.
