My Military Notes
Biography
My name is William Jeremiah Tarbush. I joined the US Army as a PV2 (Private Second Class) because of extra work I did with my Delayed Entry Program before joining the Army. I attended Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA. I was then assigned to Fort Hood, TX before my orders were diverted sending me to Fort Carson, CO. I trained as part of the Second Brigade, Second Infantry Division replacement detachment. I met my battalion, the 1/503 Infantry Regiment (Air Assault) in Ar Ramadi, Iraq for the second half of their deployment. I was assigned to 3rd Platoon, C company as Radio and Telephone Operator and promoted to Private First Class. I was also batallion subject matter expert for the American Science and Engineering Z Backscatter Van (for which I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal). Soon upon redeployment, I was medically discharged for post-traumatic stress disorder. I was honorably discharged with an ARCOM, GWOT Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. I was also given a Combat Infantryman Badge.
