The growing global 'Open Access' movement campaigns for free scholarly information via the Internet. Instead of publishers using copyright to restrict use, authors can now retain copyright and grant the public the right to creatively reuse their work. It is to be hoped that many of the authors of WV historical documents and journal articles will embrace the concept and practice of 'open access' publication in the future.
