November 2022: Jason enjoyed connecting with friends old and new at AIChE in Phoenix and presenting on his work studying M-N-Cs at the interface between thermal, electrochemical, and molecular catalysis.
October 2022: Jason's paper on the preparation of Fe-N-C catalysts using molecular synthesis strategies is accepted in Journal of the American Chemical Society!
September 2022: Jason's review bridging the fields of thermocatalytic aerobic oxidation and electrocatalytic O2 reduction is accepted in Chemical Reviews!
June 2022: Jason had a fantastic week at the Gordon Research Conference on Catalysis! Jason presented a talk at the GRS, was elected chair of the 2024 Gordon Research Seminar on Catalysis, and won a postdoc poster award at the GRC.
May 2022: Jason presented a talk at the 27th North American Catalysis Society Meeting, entitled "Chemical and Electrochemical O2 Reduction on Heterogeneous Non-Precious Metal Catalysts and Relevance to Mediated Electrolysis."
March 2022: Jason was recognized with a Postdoc Mentor Award from the Graduate Student Faculty Liaison Committee of the UW–Madison Chemistry Department! Thank you to Jesse Martinez for the excellent nomination letter.
January 2022: Jason's paper comparing chemical and electrochemical mechanisms of mediated O2 reduction on M-N-C catalysts is accepted in Journal of the American Chemical Society!
November 2021: Jason presented two talks on his postdoctoral research at the AIChE meeting in Boston. It was fantastic to re-connect with everyone in person!
May 2021: Jason presented a talk on his work in the Stahl lab at the Catalysis Club of Chicago Spring Symposium, entitled "Relationship between Aerobic Oxidation Catalysis and Electrochemical O2 Reduction on Heterogeneous M–N–C Catalysts."
April 2021: Jason presented a talk entitled "Kinetic effects of protonated molecular clusters and hydrogen-bonded networks on alkanol dehydration in Brønsted acid zeolites" in a session entitled "Surface Chemistry and Solvation Effects on Catalysis in Confined Environments: Adsorption and Reaction within Liquid-Filled Micropores" on April 5 at the 2021 ACS Spring Meeting.

November 2020: Jason presented a talk entitled "Solvation of Water and Alkanols Confined within Brønsted Acid Zeolites: Kinetic Effects of Protonated Clusters and Extended Networks" in the Fundamentals of Catalysis and Surface Science session at the AIChE Annual Meeting (virtual).
August 2020: Jason's paper on the kinetic implications of alkanol clustering within chabazite zeolites on parallel ether formation pathways is published in Journal of Catalysis!
July 2020: Jamie's Perspective on descriptions of active centers in metal-zeotypes beyond their binding site is published in ACS Catalysis!
July 2020: Jason's collaborative paper with Alex Hoffman and David Hibbitts on the stabilization of alkanol dehydration transition states by extended networks of charge established by specific Al arrangements is published in Angewandte Chemie!
June 2020: Jason's collaborative manuscript, with Brandon Bukowski and Jeff Greeley, on the kinetic influence of water networks and water-ethanol clusters in H-zeolites is out in Chemical Science!
April 2020: Jason received the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (National Institutes of Health F32) to fund his postdoctoral research at UW–Madison!
March 2020: Jason received the Outstanding Research Award from the Purdue College of Engineering.
January 2020: Jason joined Shannon Stahl's group at the University of Wisconsin–Madison to study heterogeneous catalysts for organic synthesis and energy applications as a postdoctoral researcher.
2014–2019
November 2019: Jason successfully defended his PhD Thesis, entitled "Structure and Solvation of Confined Water and Alkanols in Zeolite Acid Catalysis."
November 2019: Jason received first place for his presentation at AIChE in the Area 8D (Inorganic Materials) Graduate Student Award Session!
November 2019: Jason gave two talks at the 2019 AIChE meeting in Orlando, FL, about his work on the structure and solvation of hydronium ions and alkanols in Brønsted acid zeolites, and about the structure of Lewis acid sites in Sn-zeolites.

January 2019: Jason received the Graduate Teacher Certificate from Purdue's Center for Instructional Excellence recognizing his efforts to improve his teaching craft.
November 2018: Jason presented on his work on the influence of framework polarity and active site structure on catalysis in Sn-Beta at AIChE in Pittsburgh, PA.
September 2018: Michael Cordon's paper on the role of entropy in glucose isomerization in hydrophobic Ti-Beta is published in Journal of the American Chemical Society. Excellent work by Michael, Gounder lab colleagues, and our collaborators including David Hibbitts, David Flaherty, and Jeff Miller.

May 2018: Jason is featured, with Purdue Catalysis Center colleagues Phil Kester, Juan-Carlos Vega-Vila, and Arthur Shih, on the Purdue Chemical Engineering website for their awards at catalysis club meetings.

August 2017: Jason began working with Rohan Dighe as an undergraduate mentee. Rohan is a sophomore in chemical engineering from New Jersey.
