When Jason is not in their office, lab, or a lecture hall they can probably be found reading or writing science fiction, paranormal horror, or fantasy. Nothing makes them happier than when their research and fiction interests cross over. Whether it's extending ideas about human-computer and human-AI interaction, exploring the future of biometrics, or increasing LGBTQ+ representation, science can be a wonderful muse.
Come say hi to them at speculative fiction conventions. They are a regular panelist at Can*Con and have served on panels at WorldCon (2022, 2024) and the 2021 World Fantasy Convention. Jason is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA; associate member), The Codex Writer's Group, The Quebec Writers Federation, and SF Canada.
