THE EDMONTON QUEER HISTORY APP (EQHA) INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for showing interest in the Edmonton Queer History App! This document contains instructions on how to download the app for use on iOS, Android, and Windows 10 platforms, as well as how to view the tour using a Web browser. It also provides more detailed instructions that are specific for each platform on how to navigate through the app.

iOS DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

Prerequisites:

  • 80 MB. iOS 10.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Language: English.

Downloading the izi.TRAVEL App:

1. Open up the App Store on your device and search for izi.travel - city guides.

2. Download the app by tapping the GET button -- it’s free!

Finding the EQHA within the izi.TRAVEL App:

1. On the All Guides page, tap on the search bar.

2. Type in Edmonton Queer History App, and tap on this result:

3. Once you have read the introduction, tap START to begin the tour! Note: You can bookmark the tour for later by tapping the button pointed to by the red arrow, and download the tour for offline access by tapping the button pointed to by the blue arrow.

iOS Help:

There is a glossary, eight locations, a historical timeline, and an acknowledgements section. Here’s how to use the app for the best experience. When you click on a location, you will see that there is text and some images. Locations may also have audio and video. Whenever a location has a video, start off by watching it. After, read the text. Then view the images. Lastly, listen to the audio if the location has it. There is a link at the bottom of the text that will lead to the Google Street View for that location. Proceed through the locations in the order they are listed in the itinerary.

Prerequisites:

  • 11 MB; Android 5.0 or later; Language: English.

2. Download the app by tapping the INSTALL button -- it’s free!

1. On the Explore page, tap the search icon.

2. Type in Edmonton Queer History App and tap on this result:

2. Click the Browse best guides button.

3. Click the Search button.

4. Type in Edmonton Queer History App and click on this result:

5. Click on Map and Info to read the introduction.
