RV12 LSA Build

I document my progress on building an RV-12 LSA (Light Sport Aircraft). At this point I have the fuselage, wings and the tail completed and I am working on the finish kit.

RV-12 Kit Plane Project

I am having a great time building this kit airplane. The RV-12 is a LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) from Van's Aircraft in Aurora, OR. I visited the factory and saw both the original and the final version of the plane. The wings are detachable, like a glider. Each wing spar crosses the fuselage so that each of the two retaining pins goes through both wings. The support from Vans is just great. Most builders will start with the empennage, but the early builders started with the first available kit which was the wing.
