This course covers a variety of topics in humanoid robotics. Topics covered include:
Kinematics of humanoid robots
Zero Moment Point
Dynamics of humanoid robots
Inverted Pendulum Model
Walking Gait Design
Active Balancing
Motion Planning
Human Robot Interaction
There is a large practical component to the course. You will implement various algorithms to compute forward and inverse kinematics. The course will use python and C++. Some of the assignments will use the Robot Operating System (ROS).
Your grade in the course depends on the following assessments:
Assignment 1: 10%
Midterm Test: 20%
Project: 30%
Final Exam: 40%
The course uses a combination of traditional lecture slides and interactive jupyter notebooks. Some of the notebooks are hosted on the Google Colaboratory and Microsoft Azure Notebooks servers.
