This web site is dedicated to three very talented players: Charlotte Graham, Donna Schwenk and Carole Myers. Charlotte played for Buffalo in 1978, Donna in 1977 and Carole in 1977 & 1978.
Charlotte played all four years the league was in existence. In 1976 she played for the San Jose Sunbirds; in 1977 the Santa Ana Lionettes; in 1978 the Bisons and in 1979 the New York Golden Apples. As an amateur, Charlotte was one of the nation’s great pitchers. In a four-year span with the Santa Clara Laurels, Charlotte posted 143 victories. Twice she hurled four no-hitters in a single season with the Laurels, in 1968 and 1971. In 1976 she posted a 23-11 record with an ERA of 0.93. Charlotte lost her battle with cancer in 2006.
As an amateur, Donna was considered one of the top five pitchers in the country, posting a 245-64 mound record in her eight-year career and earning All-America honors each season. She broke into the IWPS in 1976 and posted a 16-14 record for the Chicago Ravens before going on to the Breskis in 1977 where she had a 1-6 mark before being sidelined by illness. Donna passed away in 1977.
Carole Myers was an outstanding catcher and played for the Breskis in 1977 and 1978. She also played for the Michigan Travelers in 1976 and the St. Louis Hummers in 1979. Her amateur career started in 1964 and includes two women's fast pitch state championships with Foremost. She played with Southwest Missouri State University and helped guide the Lady Bears to a second place finish in the 1970 College World Series and third place finishes in 1971 and 1973. Carole passed away in the 1990's of brain cancer. On May 3, 1993 the J. Carole Myers Memorial Scholarship was founded and is awarded annually to a student(s) enrolled at Missouri State University with consideration being given to high school and/or amateur softball performance and leadership qualities.
